He has only been ill for 24 hours - should he also take zicam? Or will the meds he is already taking do the same thing the zicam would do?

Hi there! My 4 yr old was recently prescribed to Loratadine as well (which is just the generic name for Claritin) She has responded very well to the Loratadine but like most meds it takes a couple of days to work through their system. In the meantime, yes, Zicam is ok (I used the gel nasal swaps) because the active ingredient in Zicam is Zinc, which is just a vitamin. So..as long as your son doesn't have any allergic reactions to Zinc (which I doubt he does) then yes, the 2 are fine together! Hope this helps!
