As an employee at a psych hospital, I feel comfortable telling you that most hospitals won't allow meds from outside the facility to be taken within their facility UNLESS it is examined by the facility's own pharmacy. The best way for you to help your son get gotu kola is for you or him to talk with his doctor and make the request. If it is allowed, the facility will obtain it if it can or it will have you provide it to them. Hope this helps.

i can tell you im 27 and ive been messed up one time i didnt sleep for a week i was seeing things and paranoid i detoxed myself off pain pills ive been on seraquille and i threw it away it makes you just sleep and see trails its crazy and a popular street drug theres always hope i promise i used to docter shop and was taking pain pills with xanex and clamazopam the first thing is he has to detox and want help to free his ind and find the right meds anxiety is terrible when i went on depekpote for 5 days i felt horrible started too cry for know reason and so aggitated im on aderall and lyrica right now and seems too be working i know lyrica sounds crazy for anxiety but its for nervers and pain so it does relax you with turning you into a drooling zombie you have too be so careful and he has to be completly honest about how the meds make him feel so he can can on the right meds its a process i really hope it works out i can feel his pain and i know my mom knows what your going through i hope tis helps.

"i was seeing things and paranoid" im guessing these were substance induced. if not then thats actualy a normal reaction that tends to happen at specific times of the day/night which if your in a group of people you can have shared hallucinations! but for the male who is losing his memory i am curious if they have him working out and doing as many brain activities that he can. This seems to be the best way to strengthen the mind (i am no doctor or psychiatrist)

OH and what is gotu kola anyway? if its the drink with gaba in it then it doesnt do anything for mental anxiety just psysical symptoms. i dont think thats what it is but just putting that out there

I actually did speak with his social worker, and she promised to give the message to his phycologist to call me back. That was 2 days ago, and I figured from the beginning that I would have to approach them several times to get a response. I asked specifically about him being able to access Gotu Kola through the facility, as I know the are very strict about it and it's interaction with his current medication. I am just hopeful for him and willing to try natural approachs where I can to help comfort him in his frustration. Thanks so much for you reponse.
