T-Mom,
Well, Vyvanse is generally prescribed for kids 6-12. I think your son may just be getting into that stage where his normal hormones and other body chemistry is affecting the medications and quite possibly bringing on the side effects. I think you should talk with his doctor and see if he/she thinks maybe he needs to switch to another medication or just come off of the Vyvanse. Good luck and God bless.
I've been taking Vyvanse for about a year and I'm 21. I don't know if I was prescribed it because I'm only about 100 lbs, about the weight of a 12 year old, or for some other reason. I didn't know that it was mainly for little kids. It has actually helped me quite a lot though because I can focus, get stuff done, less fidgety and don't feel like there's ants crawling around in my bloodstream anymore.

Hi Olsonj, I do not claim to know a lot but my son also takes VYVANSE and he is 15. He has been taking it for about 3 years now and is having some problems. One of the answers I got about this is this is a drug for kids like up to 12 years old and after checking this I found it is true. I know they do make ADD meds for adults as well as kids.If your son is 31 I have no idea why he was given this drug. Sure hope what ever he takes he is able to find something to help him. Good Luck and God Bless
