My son is 15 y.o. he has been taking Vyvanse for about 3 yrs. now it has been working great!?

Well, Vyvanse is generally prescribed for kids 6-12. I think your son may just be getting into that stage where his normal hormones and other body chemistry is affecting the medications and quite possibly bringing on the side effects. I think you should talk with his doctor and see if he/she thinks maybe he needs to switch to another medication or just come off of the Vyvanse. Good luck and God bless.

i completely agree with phsyched.
i think that you son is just growing up and hitting those "teenage moods"
and he just doesnt need a young medication either overpowering his hormones or creating an extremely bad chemistry with them inside his body.

I really have a question - my son, who is 31, (not a typeo) was perscribed Vyvanse TODAY for ADD. He was diagnosed while in college, took Adderall for a short time, and still knows he needs help. Is he too old for this drug?

I've been taking Vyvanse for about a year and I'm 21. I don't know if I was prescribed it because I'm only about 100 lbs, about the weight of a 12 year old, or for some other reason. I didn't know that it was mainly for little kids. It has actually helped me quite a lot though because I can focus, get stuff done, less fidgety and don't feel like there's ants crawling around in my bloodstream anymore.

I am 35 and was just prescribed Vyvanse after taking Adderall for years. They do use it now for adults with ADHD. I would speak with your son's doctor and see if the dosage needs to be changed due to your son being a growing teenager.

My son is 12 and 30mg of Vyvance. His pediatrician said that his dose would most likely be the same as an Adult. They don't need to up it all the time. As long as it works. Good luck!
