ruff7e... therapy for the past 2 years. Her doctor has researched and now wants to treat her with Gemzar. What are the dangers of taking this drug for treating small bowl cancer when all I have read is that it is meant to target other cancers

I couldn't find any information online about any evidence of Gemzar working well for small bowel cancer. This doesn't however mean that it can't be used.
I'm sure her doctor has some new information, and if you are concerned you are entitled to ask about the benefits and he/she has any information that Gemzar works for small bowel cancer.

I did the same but just because I can't find something to support this the doctor sometimes gets new information (as Marvell said) all the time, he may from what his experteses tells him that this is the best route to go but if either of you have questions or concerns you have the right to ask him or her the question I am so very sorry that she has this and I feel for you I will keep you both in my prayers please let us know how things are I and (others) support you both
