My patient is prescribed with two antibiotics: ampicillin and cefotaxime sodium. why is this so?

You'll have to ask the prescriber why he/she is using the two antibiotics.
Maybe the infection is severe, or they are not sure what they are treating so want to cover all bases, or they know what they are treating and this combination is effective??
