Taking clopidogrel and esomeprazole together decreases the effectiveness of clopidogrel. It's best not to take these 2 medicines together.

yes he should take clopidogrel daily inorder to prevent the recurrence of stroke... but esomeprazole is not supposed to be taken with clopidogrel as it reduces the metabolic activity of clopidogrel and therepeutic efficacy... also causes recurrence of stroke due to longtime use... better to replace esomeprazole with famotidine which can show action alike as esomeprazole...
