He was given 50mg. On top of that he was already taking lasix. Yet he has no history of high blood pressure. He's also on lipitor.
Why is the doctor giving him cozaar? A day before that he was given hyzaar but was discontinued becoz he experienced dizziness, tiredness and felt like fainting.
Why is my dad being prescribed Cozaar?

My mother had water in her lungs as well..congestive heart failure. She took cozaar which was for the enlargement of her left ventricle . There appeared to be what looked like a clot. When this first happened she was taking lasix... injections once a day..then later pills. Hyzaar is pretty much the same as cozaar. Hyzaar has a mild diuretic. Maybe that is what made your dad dizzy... the lasix with the diuretic. My mom went into the hospital weighing 156 lb. and left 2 days later weighing only 128. The doctor said it was all the water drained from my mom. Lipitor had no effect on her. I hope I helped a little.
