The doctors up there told him that they do not make that drug anymore, is there a sub for it. His lungs where at 50% with the drug and now without it his lungs are at 30%.
My father lives in Wv and has been taking Acetylcysteine, is there a sub for that drug?

Paul, it is hard for me to believe that the docs are telling your dad this. Acetylcysteine is the drug used to treat acetaminophen toxicity. It can be found under the name Mucomyst. I just googled the word Mucomyst and the entire first page had many sites on Mucomyst. Why don't you google Mucomyst and you will see this too. If your dad is wanting the generic form, acetylcysteine, perhaps a compounding pharmacy can help you. There are many compounding pharmacies in every city. Just call around... and DO google Mucomyst.
I hope that this helps. I hope that your father can find this and get better. I am sure that he is suffering much from his lung condition.
Good luck and God Bless...
