... Alzheimers. I think this may actually be a misdiagnonsis of amiodarone side effects. Has anyone had a similar situation? Can this be possible? Some of his other problems related to this disease include purple skin, his white hair turning black and thinning, a misdiagnosis of pulmanary fibrosos (his lung problems were caused by amiodarone which was confirmed by another doctor), eye problems, ear problems, muscle loss... and those are just the ones I can think of. He is 76 and stopped taking the drug about 2 years ago.
My father has suffered many serious side effects from this drug. Now he has been diagnosed with?

I am 60 n on AMIO for 6 years for AFIB. My side effects are tiredness, lack of concentration, COPD, I'm on inhalers n nebulizer AND never smoked, muscle aches, shortness of breath n more. I know AMIO caused these n more problems as I was athletic hyper and now I'm a turtle!! Two DRS. agreed w/me who know me for a long time. Still taking AMIO cause still get AFIB but discussing new meds but had congestive heart failure n 6 cardioversions so not that simple. Not a DR. but AMIO is poison to me w/lots of side effects as u stated n more. Again not DR. but If I was him I'd take vitamins n look in that direction to help. DRS. will keep giving meds but I'm looking at differant routes.
