I have been prescribed Subutex by my Dr. for the past 3 months and I went to see him today and he said he can't prescribe it anymore and hes not allowed. He said the DEA said that he is only allowed to write Suboxone. He then tried to write me a prescription for Suboxone which I told him I did not want. I have been on it before and it gives me bad headaches and I hate the taste. This is really bad I have been doing really well for 3 months. I want to continue to stay clean but I have to find a new Dr. that can write me Subutex. Why would my Dr. do this? Is he just making all this up? If you are allowed to write Suboxone why can't you write Subutex? Why was he giving me it for 3 months straight and now no more???

I have never heard of a doctor saying they can only prescribe one type! Wow, either way.. i must tell you.. If you feel the subutex was working.. the suboxone works well too, the headaches can be a very rare symptom of w/d or doing to much.. but not by taking the dose everyday.. and the taste! come on.. your taking a medication to save you from addiction deal with it! what you need to do is call the number for your state and figure out who can prescribe the medication still or if it is a law in your state.. If it is, don't be afraid the headaches will subside after time and the taste you will have to deal with it! I hated it to but now its comforting and i have used it for 3 years! So call the number that lists all the doctors or give the suboxone another try!
