My daughter takes Humatrope via the pen & complains it stings terribly & she can taste it - advice?

My son complains of burning if I make up a new cartridge and when I express the air and some of the medication dribbles onto the needle, if I use that needle to inject he complains it burns so I will use one needle to express the air and bubbles then change to a clean new needle to inject. They started giving us regular syringes because he was leaving 1/2 a dose in one cartrige at the end and either I would have to give him two shots to get a full dose or throw away some and come up short at the end of the month so they started sending syringes for me to draw up the last bit from the cartridge along with some from the new one to make a full dose without sticking him twice. He has decided he likes being injected with the regular syringe instead of the pen now so we started using syringes intead of the pen. Always be sure that the alcohol you swab the area to be injected is dry before injecting as that can cause the injection to burn too.
