My 5 year old is now starting Advair diskus 100/50; I am worried about the side effects for him?

htregellas; I do not have any children taking this medication but, from what I know about it, it is a safe drug. Of course it is a steroid but it is a fast acting inhaler. Your child probably still has an albuterol inhaler I would imagine. What I would do if it were my child is give it a try and go from there. Sorry I could not be more helpful but the way I look at it the medication is helping your child breathe faster that the albuterol. Good Luck

Jesse started advair at seven and was one of the tallest in class. Two years of advair very little growth, maybe 1 inch, and is one the shortest in class now. All siblings are five to six inches taller.
