My 11 year old son has been taking Adderall for approx. 3 weeks, 15 mg/day for the last two weeks.?

I take it he has ADHD? It is because the medicine works for his ADHD and allows him to function normally. When he is off the meds on the weekends, his ADHD kicks in in full force and he cant sleep. It is recommended that you keep your child on the medicines every day.

Because he is A.D.D or A.D.H.D and his mind won't shut up so he cannot sleep. He probably has so many thoughts in the 60 sec that you finish one thought that he cannot begin to know what he was just thinking. If you ask him "What are you thinking about" it will probably give him anxiety trying to figure out which thought he was thinking in the one second it took you to ask him... because he had multiple thoughts going at the same time.
