Basically, if I take the tabs, should it be with or without food & what difference does it make? Thanks much - still trying 2 get used 2 this med!

Hi echo08. Here is the webside I would call the pharmacy they knood more about the medication. There are side-effects but they go away once your body gets adjusted to the meds.
Carefully follow your tablets with food can increase the levels of Zanaflex in your blood stream, but taking Zanaflex capsules with food can decrease the levels.Switching between Zanaflex tablets and capsules, or changing the way you take it with regard to eating, can cause an increase in side effects or a decrease in therapeutic effect. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. After making any changes in how you take Zanaflex, contact your doctor if you notice any change in how well the medicine works or if it causes increased side effects.

Some of these drugs can upset your tummy at times, is why they suggest taking it with food. Blondie is right tho' as my pain meds that I take, I take firt alone with water, wait about ten minutes & then eat something even if a few crackers etc,,, & they seem to kick in better, so agin blondie is right about food making it get in your blood stream faster. Good luck with this... Mary

You are not dumb - it is just confusing!
Zanaflex tablets or capsules should be taken at the same time every day, with or without food.
Food greatly affects the amount of Zanaflex your body absorbs. Establish a routine in how you take Zanaflex and remain consistent.
Don't change between tablets or capsules.
