Iron is for anemia. The other vitamins are necessary for general well being. Every vitamin is necessary for different things, so taking a multivitamin just supplements you, if you are deficient in these.
Generally lab checks/blood tests only measure iron levels. I'm not sure if you can get levels of every Vitamin level, in the blood.
well, no, iron is in the muiltvitamin plus other stuff, (a vitamin isn't necessarly considered a drug, it's more of a supplyment) it includes vitamin A, C, D, E, K and different variation of the B vitamins. plus a whole lot more. And like I said before supplyments are different than drug because a supplyment doesn't neccesarly have to have a limit. mulitvitamins contain mostly water-soluable ingrediance. This means that the stuff in the vitamin go right through the blood stream therefore the body takes and uses what is needed and the rest is excreated in sweat or urine. The body only keeps what it needs, it only stores certain amounts.
