Mucinex DM - My uncle has heart trouble and wears a pace maker also is a diabetic can he take this?

Hi,
Being diabetic (I am too), he should take note of the sugar content... there can be in some cough medicines. There are cough meds that are for diabetics, you just have to read the label. It won't help coughs from asthma or emphysema etc. but if he isn't on stimulants, maoi's he should be okay. But check with your pharmacist who should be better able to say if there are any worries taking it with the other meds he's on.

I suffer with heart problems as well and the first medication I was taken off of was Mucinex DM and told it is counter productive to all forms of heart medications and your uncle should not take it.
