phentermine under the direction of a weight loss clinic. Unfortunately, I seemed to have developed a very quick tolerance to the 37.5mg administered and feel greatly discouraged. I've noticed from a few of the comments that it appears there are different types of Phentermine? Adipex-P and also Ionamin, that has been discontinued. Also, could anyone rate the weight loss drug Meridia in comparison to Adipex-P Phentermine. I sometimes wonder if I have been duped by this weight loss clinic having really purchased a placebo?

Phentermine is actually the generic name for Adipex, lonamin is NOT the same drug however. Phentermine, AKA Adipex, is one of the highest rated and most effective appetite suppressants FDA approved for weight loss and is greatly effective when combined with a low calorie diet and exercise. Most weight loss clinics offer a complex b 12 shot as well to help rev up the metabolism. Also keep in mind that phentermine is NOT intended for long term use and it's effects are most potent for the first couple of weeks. A weight loss clinic can also prescribe diuretics to help shed off unwanted water weight to help lose weight quicker and to lessen the effects of the stimulant (raises blood pressure like crazy) And it is illegal for any clinic or pharmacy to give a placebo, so that is not the case. Especially a controlled substance.
Besides phentermine, other amphetamines such as aderal, or vyvanse greatly decrease appetite and are in a similar class if you want to compare phentermine to other drugs. Keep in mind, however, that aderal, and vyvanse are intended for ADD, or ADHD and are can be difficult to even get prescribed or purchased from a pharmacy.
