About 3 days ago I had the Mirena IUD inserted. Right after I got it inserted I checked the strings and could feel them fine. Yesterday I went to check the strings again only to find that they are much shorter. I can only feel just the very tips of the strings sticking out. Is this something I should be concerned about or does the device settle in deeper after insertion? Could it have come out of place?

You should get it checked but don't freak out yet.I lost my strings all together and when I went to the doctor the strings had just sort of rolled up inside so that they were out of my reach. They also checked it with ultrasound and it was fine. I have had mine for 4 years.
