Milk of Manesia (Magnesium hydroxide) Recommended Dosing Information
Usual Adult Dose for Constipation:
30 to 60 mL orally once a day or in divided doses.
8 tablets orally once a day or in divided doses.
Usual Adult Dose for Dyspepsia:
Initial dose: 5 to 15 mL orally 1 to 4 times a day as needed.
Alternatively, 1 to 3 oral tablets 1 to 4 times a day as needed.
2 to 4 tablets orally every 4 hours as needed up to 4 times in a 24 hour period.

The directions on the milk of magnesia say to drink a full 8 oz. of liquid along with the dosage, can it be a glass of dairy milk?

Post surgery I have had constipation due to use of analgesics for pain. Stool softeners have helped very little. I would like some speedy relief.
