What is the difference between metroprolol and metroprolol tartrate?

There is no difference. Metoprolol tartrate is just a salt form of metoprolol. Both would deliver the stated amount of the active ingredient, metoprolol.

When changing from Metoprolol succinate, 25 mg. daily, to metoprolol tartrate, what dose is correct?

I take this for blood pressure and have had no problems but understand that the tartrate is cheaper.
