Bright,
Actually, the metoclopromide (Reglan) increases your gastric motility enabling earlier gastric emptying after a meal. I am bipolar also, refused to take any antipsychotics at all, told my docs to think a little harder or I'll go get ECT, which does work quickly by the way. I was a nurse and know Reglan very well, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your brain and I don't believe there is much of a side effect risk. Hey... even aspirin has side effects.
Just saying, Bright.
Have a great worry free day sweets,

My twins were on Reglan for regurgitation. One twin projectile vomited. It worked well for them. The package insert and a friend of mine also warned about potential side effects like that of an antipsychotic, cholinergic, anticholinergic, I can't really remember right now, but BOTH of them were FINE and they took it for several years without any problems or side effects of any kind.
I am so happy your twins did so well. I actually am afraid of babies as I always took care of adults. Kids scare me to death, even 16 year old ones. But,thanks.
