Yes it is true.
Drug company Lundbeck recently announced that they are abandoning the product because, under the FDA unapproved-drug campaign, FDA is no longer willing to allow it to be "grandfathered". A new drug application was never submitted to the FDA to gain marketing approval. The drug will no longer be available when supplies are depleted, which is anticipated by the end of 2011.

since there is no replacement drug for this or a generic how can Lundbeck allow people to die without it?
i'm unfamiliar with the abovementioned reasons that led to this drug no longer being manufactured by Lundbeck. However i am aware that the name of the company has changed a few times since my daughter was first prescribed Mebaral. Can you let me know if this is just another one of those fairly expected company "name changes" i've seen over the years or is this really not going to be available to those that depend on this drug for seizure control.Any thing we can do about this... please let me know..my daughters life depends on its availability .. tried many combinations .. mebaral works. She is 24 years old .
