I am interested in the medical field and have a medical background. I started out in nursing school. Within that year, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was tough news for an 18 year old nursing student who was then studying "Death and Dying". I love doing research and have a strong interest in the welfare of people who don't have a voice but need help. I once championed a cause for a young man who was being suspended from school. I was so outraged at the school board for what they had done...that I got this young man and his family on TV. I fight for what I believe to be right. Just like I believed in this young man and got him back in school. I believed in him and I knew him...that is all I will say on that subject. In 2009 I got my MA certificate because I still wanted to learn even though I didn't think I could remember any longer. ECTs permanently ruined my short-term memory capabilities. I've had many regrets...most of which I cannot remember! I am a good listener and offer advice based on my knowledge and research. I am not one to force opinions or pass judgment. There is no place in my world for people who operate like that. I have overcome RMD w/si; cervical spine surgery, lamenectomy with hardware in lumbar spine, spinal stenosis; osteoarthritis both hands and hips with one full hip replacement under my belt and waiting for the next one in Feb. '13; rotator cuff repair...left shoulder; left knee...arthroscopic repair miniscus; right elbow...clean out debris and re-anchor ulnar nerve; double crush nerve entrapment; spinal implant neuromodulator (works GREAT); gallstones and now no gallbladder; plantars fasciitis with surgical intervention on left foot...now comes the right foot...having trouble walking because of recent flairs. Mild drop foot in both feet. I walk with the aid of two very beautiful canes, I love butterflies so those are on my canes...I have Behcets and that is no fun...I am now starting yet a new career path, pharmacy technician and why not? I can still learn...it is remembering I have problems with but I still love to study. I want to help people as much as I may seek advice or exchange thoughts and ideas on current issues and treatment plans that work for various conditions and even ethical issues pertaining to illnesses and varying courses of treatments. I have had more surgeries than I care to admit and still dealing with these issues responsibly while keeping an open mind to new and more innovative treatments. I believe a person has to be their own best advocate to assure the best, optimal results.
