I am a 61-year old woman who suffered from a major stroke five years ago which caused 24/7 severe migraines, but I have gotten some relief with many treatments. But I'm still suffering from severe ones which can last for several days at a time--very hard to treat since they were caused by my stroke. I can't do much in a day and need at least 12 hours of sleep a night or my migraines get terrible. I also suffer from Trigeminal Neuralgia (severe mouth pain), fibromyalgia and a number of other problems. My major stroke caused kidney failure, weakness and lack of coordination on one side, lack of appetite, difficulty swallowing, myoclonus--involuntary jerking of limbs and whole body--now treated, pain during sleeping, obstructive and central brain sleep apnea, 24/7 clenching of toes, voice problems, bletharitis--pain in my eyes, and other medical problems. Also problems not caused by my stroke include osteoporosis and depression--now treated, and other medical problems.
A 6-month Prolia injection given to me more than a year and a half ago, caused seemingly permanent burning of my skin and severe bone pain. This prevents me from wearing my CPAP mask, further making my migraines worse and putting me at risk for other serious illnesses including another stroke. The side effects from the Prolia should have long gone away. Also have extreme muscle weakness and extreme fatigue from the medication treating my Trigeminal Neuralgia, but much better than the electric-like shocks from that.
But I am now grateful for what I am able to do and what I do have in my life. It was a process to get to this point.
I've worked more than full time for many years, but now can barely work. I also used to volunteer to help others and was politically active. Now rarely go out to do anything--errands, socially.read less
