Chyk41's answer: Metoprolol succinate is a beta blocker, it is to lower your blood pressure it works by making the blood swirl and not hit the blood vessels directly.

Can coumadin cause vascular dementia?

Chyk41's answer: Coumadin is a blood thinner and would not be the cause of vascular dementia. If anything it would help slow the progress.

Chyk41's answer: You shouldn't have a problem having a tooth pulled with plavix, the dentist may wish you to come off it for a week before pulling the teeth or he may check with your cardiologist to find out if it is safe to remove it while you are taking the plavix.

Chyk41's answer: Hi Sue, Plavix doesn't cause weight gain, what you maybe suffering from is edema, are you taking any diuretic's. You may need to have your doctor increase to dose.

Chyk41's answer: Both are anticoagulant (blood thinner), If you stop one today you will start the other tomorrow. Just my sure that you don't take them the same day.

Chyk41's answer: Your blood will thicken and you will develop the ability for your blood to clot. If there is a stent or any other narrow area in your heart or leading to the brain you can have a heart attack or stroke or both.
