I am a mother of five and I feel concerned about the way psychiatrists are medicalising so many everyday normal feelings, emotions and personality traits and renaming them as DISORDERS. I think people who constantly analyse others often have many hangups themselves. The thing which upsets me most is the way childhood and childish behaviour is being relabelled as ADHD.Naughty kids need extra patienceand firm discipline
but drugging them with amphetamines is extremely dangerous and so damaging to their developement. The drugs may be a quick fix for a while but drugs like ritalin can cause brain damage, damage to internal organs and actually stunt growth. If a child takes these stimulants for years they could develope TARDIVE DYSKINESIA which is like parkinson disease, also tics and tremors.
Maybe they paid attention in class at primary school but who would employ someone who cannot even hold a pencil
Chidrens medication used to be so closely regulated but now six year olds are taking class A drugs and many have died as a result.
Drug companies are responsible for disease mongering and making parents everywhere wonder if their child has "it" Did you know psychiatrists want to list toddler temper tantrums as a mental illness and add this to the ever growing list of disorders listed in the DSM(Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders) What is this world coming to when half the population are walking round like zombies. This is not health it is pure greed from psychiatrists and drug companies who are forever looking for new clients to take drugs and to make even more money.
As you can tell I feel very strongly about this matter.Kids everywhere are having to swallow pills once limited to the people in asylums.I call it Dying to pay attention !
Please if you are reading this find alternate ways of helping your children without dangerous mind altering drugs.
