I was hit by a car in 1994 from behind while I was sitting at a red light minding my own business. When I turned around to figure out what had happened the four youngsters driving the car backed up and hit me again. I got out of the car and got the license plate, which ended up being a stolen car and they jumped the curb and raced away. Apparently according to the sheriff, they were out to rob me. I was two blocks from my children's school where I had been picking them up from for YEARS, and I couldn't find it! Now they know that I suffered a concussion, back then, I was just 'upset' from being hit. The sheriff didn't bother following up on the case, as my car didn't look banged up. I was the one who took the entire impact, both forward, and rotationally. I suffered a traumatic brain injury, post traumatic migraines, and fibromyalgia, all which were diagnosed much later. I was a special education teacher, and a year after the car hit me, I had to give up my career due to the pain, and inability to function. I TRIED EVERYTHING to get better, but was accused consistently of being a drug seeker. I was merely looking for a doctor who could cure me. Due to all the problems, my back also got worse and worse, and now my MRI of my back has diagnoses that I can't even pronounce. Because of the muscle spasms from the fibro, I have severe adult scoliosis also. I am in a great deal of pain most of the time even with narcotics. I keep my head up, and I am constantly looking to improve my life, and the pain. I am NOT an addict, and have gotten off of the narcotics several times by myself in all these years. I detest ignorant people who think that just because a person takes narcotics on a regular basis, therefore they are "addicted", and in the category of addicts.
Latest update, as of the beginning of March, I have been "fitted" with a spinal neural stimulator!! SNS. Hoping that I will be able to walk again without a walker, but these things take time. What else do I have??
