Updated 4/5/13 I am off Suboxone since 1/30/13 and off klonopin the same time. I have been on both since June 2008. I started at 4mg of Suboxone and 4mg of klonopin per day. . I am prone to kidney stones and were given percocets. I have been addicted to opiates/opiods since 1991 off and on. I have had years of sobriety thru the programs but when I came off suboxone in January of 2013 I lasted about 1 month because of the drawn out withdrawals(no energy, couldnt sleep, not as bad as acute opiate withrawl because I tapered down to .25mgs for a couple of weeks before I quit) I started to use oxycodone to offset the PAWS in Febuary but got to a high dose and didnt want to go down that road again and on 3/25/13 I went on methadone 25mg to help with the sleep and lack of energy and because I didn't want to take the oxycodone off the streets and go down the road of addiction of using and stopping and doing crazy thing to get the oxys. I was on Suboxone from June 2008 until January 2013. I was on a low dose of 6mg and the first year or two it worked great. I noticed around 2011 I had no enery or motivation to do anything. I just layed on my couch and watched tv all day and night long. I hated the way I feeled and decided in Summer of 2012 to slowly decrease the dose and came off it in January of 2013 and the withdrawals were mild compared to full agonist likes heroin but they lasted long and the sleep deprivation was the worst. I choose to relapse in Febuary of 2013 and I really should of went to rehab or a program or go on a low dose of methadone but I choose to use oxycodone 180mg a day and didn't get high. Being on the suboxone that long it really made my tolerance higher. I just wanted energy again and be able to sleep. Well I ran out of oxycodone and took way too may Vicodins and the acetiminophen in them wrecked my liver and I ended up in the local hospital for 5 days and then up in rehab for another 5 days. When I got out on 3/25/13 I was lucky enough to go on the methadone clinic at a low dose of 25mg. I am currently on just methadone 25mg and thats it. I am sleeping better and have energy again. I have been on opiates/opiods for over half my life and truly believe if I am to come off that I have to take a slow detox over many months for my body to adjust. I am 46 and years ago in my 20s and 30s I could taper quicker but now my body just can't handle the quick detoxes. Suboxone when I was on it I used a couple of times because of kidney stones and did not get high. It did work great at first but towards the end I just didnt like the way it made me feel. I always did better on full agonists. So my plan is low dose methatdone just to ease the fire in my body and my meetings. Love, Peace, Joy
