I'm 37 years old who's been dealing with two operations the bone fussion didn't take the first time & the surgeon who did it was a quack who was with Dean who would not listen to me when I told him something was seriously wrong. I changed health care providers & the new surgeon saw a big problem right off the bat. The bone around the screw had totaly detereated and there was an infection in my vertabrae & I had a bone disease called ostiomititist( I'm sure I spelled that wrong) but my bone detereates. I had to have 4 screws put in,and had to have another bone graph. I also had to have a pick line put in and I had to use this machine hooked up because I had to have constant infussion of antibiotics. There is finaly some bone growth, not much but some is better than none,but the pain just gets worse & the meds don't work as well anymore which is expected because of my tolerance. I'm was on 100mg M.S Contin 2x daily with 8mg dilaudid 3x a day as needed,but I had the M.S Contin replaced with 8 8mg dilaudid a day. It worked better for awhile & I still think it's working better than what I was on before,but it's slowly losing it's effects so I might have to go up 2 more 8mg Dilaudid sometime soon. I happend to be in the middle of transfering to Medi-Care from the insurance I had when I worked for the University of Wisconsin,so I was only able to get one C.T scan after the second operation. Now I go in on 10-8-2010 to get another one & since the last was in 2006 due to the insurance snafu I'm really worried because I've noticed a chane in the amount(and kind) of pain & range of motion. That's what's going on right now. Oh,I was also going to physical thearapy once a week and have ultra sound and eletro-stimulation,but they for some stupid reason stopped it EVEN THOUGH I WAS GETTING RELIEF! Makes no sense to me,it wasn't like it was worse than just throwing more drugs at me. I'll see if I need a third operation on the 10th,if there is one because I don't have much surface area left on my vertabre for more hardware.
