Hi, I'm a 52 year old woman with 2 grandchildren that I adore, but who live 12 hours away. I have a wonderful husband that loves me, and we have been married 30 years now. I am allergic to propylene glycol - all glycols - for 16 years now. everything I eat, drink, medications I take - anything that touches my body has to be checked for glycols. It's a pain in the butt allergy! I have a 28 year history of medication-resistant depression and PTSD and 15 years of living with chronic pain and neuropathy, am in a power wheelchair and am a professional patient - I spend 5 days a week on the road going to various doctors and therapies, and it is incredibly expensive, and tiring. I'm on lots of meds but always have hope that things can change. I did TMS Therapy (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) for medication-resistant depression and it helped my depression greatly - if you are interested in this, please try it! More and more insurance companies are starting to pay for it. I also had a Spinal Cord stimulator implanted in my lower spine Dec 2011. It is helping some - about 25%. I consider myself to be very blessed: I wasn't able to do a trial for the SCS as there was too much arthritis in my back. Had i been able to have a trial, they would not have implanted the stimulator, as the cutoff is 50% reduction in pain before they do the surgery - and mine is ONLY 25%. Yeah - try telling me 25% isn't worth it - it's wonderful! I recommend you do the trial - that way you can know if it will help you. And if it doesn't help you, then you will have proof and you can get pushy doctors off your back! II'm not here much as I am working on a few projects, but if you would like to ask me about anything, just "friend" me and I'll see that via email, and will "friend" you back, then we can talk via private questions. I'll help with anything I can. Above all, take care of your body like you will need it to last for 90 years, because you do. It's really bad being 40 and 50 years old with a body that is giving out. So treat your health like it is a priceless gem - it's the most precious (physical) thing you have!
