Melatonin can be a hit or miss type of hormone. What I mean by that is some people do well on even less than 300mcg and some people will use up to 5mg of it. Your body produces it at nighttimr during sleep in quantitirs im the area of 25mcg. Start with the low dose and remember to ride the wave of sleepiness that should hit you in about an hour after taking it. Shut the lights off,tv and just relax. If it dorsnt make you sleepy try another 300mcg until you get to the max of 5mg and I think that is too high. Remember this is a hormone and take 5 days on and 2 off and every 3 weeks take a break. We produce less after the age of 30 and it can be a good aid if used properly but not, megadoses every night without breaks. I use 600 mcg 3 times a week and then yake a week off. Works great for me and take it one hour before you go to sleep. You can take it with a sleeping pill but I found if I go to sleep just as it hits and tv off I sleep 4 straight hours and wake up and go back to sleep.
