I just heard today that mebaral is unavailable from Walgreen's Mail Order. They said "the manufacturer" had discontinued it, but did not know who that was. I've been taking it for 60 years too. Getting off it might be a good idea anyway, but doing that without having a seizure might be difficult.
From looking around the web, it looks like one manufacturer was Ovation. Ovation was acquired by Lundbeck (www.lundbeckinc.com) in Deerfield, IL. They have a web page (www.lundbeckshare.com/pg430_product_info.aspx) where mebaral is still listed as available in the US. Their phone & email are listed at www.lundbeckinc.com/usa/contact/default.asp
Today is Saturday so I haven't tried to call them.
So that's one manufacturer. I don't now if there are others.
