My gardener is a schizophrenic and sometimes his medicine runs out before he gets more at the local clinic. May I give him Tryptophan to calm and reduce his symptoms?
May schizophrenic patients take tryptophan supplements?

It is not advisable to give anyone anything that is not o.k.'d through there doctor especially with Schizophrenia. It may react in a way that is not usual due to the imbalance they have in the brain. I have a friend with schizophrenia/paranoia and have been told if they run out of their meds they should let there psychiatrist know immediately. I hope this helps, marjorie zych
