There are other medicines used for prophylaxis, but the choice of medicine depends on where you live.

The reason I have taken chloroquine at all is because I live and work in a tropical country that has endemic malaria.
The reason I am seeking an alternative is because my eyes bother me, and also because I have gotten malaria breakthroughs anyhow in the last year.
