Just read that both Lyrica nd Cymbalta's patents run out in March 2012 and will be available as generics!! Savella in 2021!!! mindy

Hi Minda its Mick from chicago, i just wanted to ask you if Lyrica and Cymbalta work the same way or is Lyrica just for over acting nerves that cause pain? And is Cymbalta just used for deprssion? I was on Lyrica for about 4 months and it was exspensive so i had to stop taking it because i lost my health insurance.. Thank you for the info my friend! Mickey...

Hey Mik from Chi town. How is Florida or did you go? I take Lyrica & yes it's expensive. It really helps my pain. You can call the Patient assistants number to get it for free. It's 1-800-646-2455. Hope they can help you. Your friend just West a bit... Mary

Lyrica should be available after 2013, that is when the patent expires.
Eli Lilly has the exclusive rights to market Cymbalta until June 2013.
The first patent for Savella currently expires in November 2021

We have Cymgen in South Africa. I tried it for 6 weeks but it made me quite anxious. Cymbalta never did that to me. I used it for depression - Cymbalta - but unfortunately it stopped working after 3 years. Now searching for the right fit. All The best Kathy
