I am trying to keep my metabolism up by eating three meals a day. I exercise at least 5 days a week around 40 minutes each day. PLEASE HELP!

I am not a doctor. I took phentermine from Jan 15 - March 15 2013. I went from 186 to 155 lbs. I am M/60.
I rediscovered the art, science, and the enjoyment of eating the "right foods".
I stopped eating 95% of all processed & packaged foods. I didn't go totally organic, but I eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables. I seriously reduced the amount of sucrose - table type sugar, HFCS (high fructose corn syrup); and totally eliminated artifical sweetners, most notaly SPLENDA! I drink water and tea & coffee without any sweetners; but some milk.
Eat leaner meats 92% or better and avoid most pork products.'
Do you get the idea?
One can consume 1000-2000 calories of jelly beams and candy or gluten wheat-based grains/cereals alone in one day and put on weight! It's medically researched and proven. Believe me I got the cravings for jelly beams worst that Ronald Rangan had lol.
I wont enter a CVS or other type place or the 'Quicky Type" conviencience store; and I don't even consider those FatFastFood places, i.e.MickeyD's Applesees etc as serving "real food".
So what ya eating? That will tell the story. See a professional nutrionist. He or she can help you develop a wonder new way to eat. The phentermine will kick in and that viseral fat will melt away!
Caution: once you start to lose it and want to keep it off do not return to the old way you ate.
I have stopped taking phentermine, cold turkey, since Mar 16-17. Thank God and the doctor he gave me for help, I am maintaining 155-158 pounds.
Oh, I work out cardio at the gym intensively 60-100 minutes a day (no breaks at the juice bar or socializing lol) 3 to 5 days a week. I do light weights 5lb to 8lbs a lot of reps. My wife hates to do my gym clothing they are so wet. I make it up to her.
Summary: don't give up even if you slip up one day- I slip and regroup
What foods make up your caloric intake?
Are you exercising, serious exercise that you see and feel the results?
Praying helps. Having a support person or group off-line in-person.

Were you ever checked for thyroid or metabolism disorders like diabetes. How long have you taken the phentermine. I tried that before at medical diet weight loss center and am trying something different this time, it is called didrex aka benzphetamine, I am sticking to the 1,200 and am losing. But please get your thyroid and blood work done for. Metabolism disorders, as they might be causing a problem. Patti
