My husband was diagnosed with add when he was around 40 years old. He was retalin for about 10 years then stop taking it. Seemed like he was having alittle bit of personality change. He is now 61. Personality change seems to be getting alittle stronger as he has gotten older. Wondering if this may be a long term side effect from taking medication. Has anyone seen this in other cases

Hello sophie4. Very interesting question. I really don't know. I don't think that theres been any study, indepth anyway, about older people. middle aged and going into the senior years. It might really have some effect. So he was on it from when he was 40 and till he was 50? And so if I understand its then been 11 years thats hes ritalin free. I just came across your question, I'll mark it as a favorite and get back here, at some point with a better answer, for I really didn't offer you one. I'd like to do some reading up,on this.
