Hello, I am sure some of you have been seeing my recent questions about Lexapro. That was prescribed by my PCP, I went and saw a Pschciatrist(Sp?) today, and he offically diagnosed me with OCD w/ irrational.negative thoughts. He said that Lexapro normally isnt as effictive with OCD, just genreal aniexty and he prescribed me Zoloft. Has anyone ever taken this before? I am just concerned because I will take my last Lexapro tonight, and begin the Zoloft tomorrow, but I heard HORRIBLE stories about withdrawl from Lexapro. I am a little nervous to try something new, but if this helps with my OCD i will deal. Any positive input for me??

Hi i thought this might be of interest to you? Out of 958 users, 67% found it successful, that is higher than surveyed for any other reason, i.e. depression, anxiety. I've read a lot of success stories also, some of which have claimed that their OCD has improved 80-85% after taking Zoloft. I hope you have as much luck with it : )

My husband is bipolar with OCD, & takes zoloft & it has literally saved his life! I swear it has. He has had to have another drug, wellbutrin added after about 8 years, but he has depression really bad with the OCD, & hasn't had a suicidal thought since he started taking zoloft. They started him on Paxil, & it didn't work for him. If after a time, you don't feel better on zoloft, be sure to talk with your doctor about it. All drugs work differently on different people. it's just our chemical makeup. A lot of times more than one drug may be used at a time also. so keep this in mind for the future in you have more problems...
