I have been suffering with anxiety for the past few years and have been able to control it with some books I have read. I now seem to have a new symptom of mild depression, which im told can come hand and hand with anxiety. I do not like taking meds but my doctors has prescribed Lexapro. After reading all the comments on this page im feeling a little nervous about taking it. I know all meds work different for all people but does anyone know of a more mild med to take for my symptoms so I can suggest them to my Doctor before taking the Lexapro? Thanks in advance!

I completely understand why you'd be hesitant to take lexapro. As for meds you could suggest, I would personally recommend Prozac as I'm on it and it has worked miracles for me! I have been on Zoloft, and I didn't have any side effects, but it didn't work for me. It isn't a bad drug though, so you could try it. Wellbutrin is also a good option I've heard, though I don't have any personal experience with it. Hope this helps!

Thanks im def going to look into that path first, Someone had mentioned something called Pharma-Gaba, Have you ever heard of it? I have been pretty lazy lately so im going to get back to the gym and see if that helps.
Pharma-Gaba can also be good for you, there is a big number of herbal which can be bveneficial for you. I would not recommend you synthetic antidepressants for mild depression.
I went to the health food tore and going to research a few things like Holy Basil and 5-HTP. I def want to avoid the synthetics and stick to the herbal path. Thanks.
