I saw my Psych yesterday and she prescribed remeron for sleep. Reading through your material, I noticed it said if you have kidney disease that you should not take this drug. I had a kidney transplant 5 years ago and wonder if the kidney disease warning for remeron applies to me.

Blue sleep. Hello. You are healthy now and should see yourself as the new and improved you. Kidney disease is ancient history. Enjoy the world and take care of that body. Ok? Indeed the medicine should be fine unless it conflicts with your cellcept or what your maintenance med is. Rest well. You were given a gift. Karen

Hi bluesleep. Congrats on your 5 years with your new kidney! I have 3 years with my second transplant and I was on Remeron (mirtazapine) for over 5 years. So yes you can as long as your GFR is above 60 and you have a good creatinine level. Good luck with your new transplant!
