Doctor gave me estrace vaginal cream because of unexplained itching which he thought was due to being unusually dry. Said to use once a day for 5 days, twice a week after until the single prescription was finished which will end usage. Am 72, husband died 3 years ago. Had no problem with dryness while he was alive and had active sex life. I have not used this though have had it for almost 2 months as afraid of possible side affects. Still have itching. He said use at night. I took birth control pills for many years after marriage and had no side effects after the first month. What do you think about my using it??? I am always reluctant to use new medicine. I did not have to take hormones after menopause. Never had hot flashes. Have never taken estrogen before.
