... some of you? Gleevec (I was on it for 2 1/2yrs.) didn't show it's real side effects on me until I was on it for 2 months or more. So far my bloodwork is alot better i.e. platelets, red & white cells. I lost a lot of weight while on Gleevec & now my appetite is better, gained 10 lbs. I would like to know of any side effects I may or may not get that u all are experiencing. Thanks!

I have not taken this medication and no one is answering, so I just want to help you because I care about humanity.-
Now I take different meds or combo, and the interactions are major, but I have experienced 3 side effects in 21 years. This does not mean you will experience some or none, you have taken chemicals (meds) before so your organism has built up tolerance to medications, you are not a first time user of meds, this one of course yes, but the odds are to your favour from my experience.-
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

I have PH+ ALL and I was taking gleevac. I had trouble with nausea, rashes, edemas, and fatigue. My Dr took me off after a couple of months and we tried sprycel. Unfortunately within a week I was almost bedridden with muscle fatigue and pain. He just took me off and now the gleevac side effects seem minimal in comparison. Hopefully you have had better results.

I have been on sprycel for 1 1/2 yrs and have had some major side effects, but I also had some bad side effects with Gleevec and Tasigna. The worst sice effect I had with this medication was that I had a serious life threatening lung infection. I had taken it for about 6 months when I developed a cough and pain on my right side. I also had a temp. of 104 and started to cough up blood. I was in ICU for about a month. After I got out of the hosp., I tried to restart my 100mg dosage, but the side effects were awful! I couldn't really get out of bed. I had horrible muscle cramps and bone pain. They then decided to switch my dosage to 50mg and have stayed on that dosage. They think that I am extremely sensitive to all these medications. I hope this medication has been working for you. I have heard that Sprycel is supposed to have the least side effects of all the CML meds.

Thanks but that is what side effects I have already read about from the pharmacy leaflet & on this website. I took Gleevec for 2 1/2 yrs. & had some really yucky side effects. I just wondered if someone else taking this drug for awhile was having any side effects not listed or what kind of common side effects people were haveing. We are all different but some side effects w/people is kind of common.
I have cml and have just started taking sprycel. I cry all the time and don't
