I just had all my top teeth pulled last week and do not have anything for the pain until sometime next week. Because I recently had surgery on my knee and already taking Vicodin 7.5mg but ran out 2 days before getting my teeth pulled. I have tried orajel on my gums and warm salt water. I have stitches all the way across still. I see the dentist on Monday, but the pain in bad and having two small children to run after added to this pain is unimaginable... PLEASE HELP!! Thanks so much for any feed back.

How are you feeling now, any better? I must agree with... uh oh I've forgotten who wrote it!! Call your dentist asap! If he/she changes the pain med RX, you can pick it up early. If tis the same as the old one you'll be stuck until next week. Just ask him/her to change the RX, OK??
Hope you're feeling better soon, and apply ice to your face, 20 minutes on, 20 mins off, that will help reduce swelling.

Do you have any health food stores around? Clove oil helps a lot - dentists use it all the time - a TEENY little drop (like a drop from a toothpick) on a couple of places, then swish (gently) around in your mouth. Sometimes pharmacies have clove oil also - call around to see. Also, from the healthstore, you can get clorophyll capsules. A pharmacist who is a herbal and homeopathic practitioner told me about this just this year. You'll have to crush a few open (you won't be able to chew them in your situation) but apply the green liquid over your gums. Your mouth will be green for awhile but this will gradually go away. Best tooth pain reliever EVER! I swear to you - there just isn't anything better - and think of the fun you'll have with your kids with your mouth all green! Hope you get relief soon -

mrs.Haehner in my experiece oregel just makes it more sore and infected. You can take a childrens liquid tylenol or advil with a surenge and squirt on your gums it'll numb it in a few minutes and not cause the soreness. Real vanilla extract works as well. Hope you feel better soon. Take care

Dear Mes. haehner... call your dentist ASAP. He/she should have never let you leave the office without a pain med prescription. The 800 mg Motrin do work well... you need to take them around the clock to get the maximum effect. When you do get the script for the pain med... take the Motrin a couple of hours after and do this interchangeably... this works the best. I hope that you feel better. Dental pain is the absolute worst... good luck...

Hello Mrs - If you find you can't stand the pain your dentist should have an emergency number you can call. Mine does and you call, his service answers and relates the problem to him. Mine will call back after hours and on the weekend. He should be able to call something in for you. The ER is another option or a minor emergency clinic. Hope this helps. Your friend
