I read all i could on line about hyperthyroidism, graves disease... what am i to expect from here... oh, and i should mention ..no insurance so this is all out of pocket. Worried yes! Can anyone with this explain to me what i am to expect??/ Please. Thanks!!!

mine wasn't as severe as what yours sounds. I took methimazole for 7 months, and now I'm in remission. I never really gained weight though. Methimazole isn't the greatest medicine to take, but I think it's more beneficial taking this route than the RAI treatment. Which my older sister had to do. She's now hypo and deals with problems in her salivary glands. (and she thinks it is because of the RAI). Hang in there!
