hello family, i have a question and im just wondering if i can get an answer as soon as possible. i took my last dose of percocet at 230pm, and about 10 minutes ago a huge panic attack and anxiety attack came on. i feel just awefull and im going crazy. my arm and fingers are getting tingly, and i know its an anxiety/panic ive had em before. it makes me feel awefull, and its making me once again back up there in my head and how i used too, its a heart attack, its a stroke and so on and so on. how soon can i take the xanax to help get this anxiety/panic under controll? im thinking i should be able to now, is it ok? any answers please. talk to you later, leanne

Hi Leanne, sorry going through this. I don't take percs but I take lortab as u know and my Dr prescribed me clonzipane for my anxiety and didn't say anything about any reactions and I take mine sometimes within 30 minutes of each other and I do fine and it helps me and I am able to relax and even go to sleep within no time. I know it's not the same medicines but I hope this helps a little of anything. Best wishes :)

You really should be able to take the xanax at any time, as long as it's not a super huge dose and you've been taking the opioid for a while. As long as these two factors are true, then you really should be fine taking the two meds together if you wanted, or more so needed. I personally take klonopin in addition to methadone. At one point I was taking 4mg of the klonopin (clonazepam) and was fine, although now I'm down to 2mg's. I've even talked to my doctor about drinking with these two meds, and he told me that I should be fine with a couple drinks. If I'm drinking a bit more, then I should just skip a dose of the klonopin. Once again, when I had asked about this, I had been taking klonopin for years, and the methadone for about a year or two, in other words, it wasn't going to shock or surprise my system. Best of luck to you, and hope that this is of some help!
Sincerely,
Jeff K
