... I have poorly controlled hypertension and well controlled type-2 diabetes. I've had trans-sphenoidal surgery twice (2007, 2009 aborted), radiotherapy (2009), and surgery to repair a CSF leak (2009) after the tumour shrunk. I also have a history of psychosis and poor vision. My endocrinologist wants to start me on a low dose of bromocriptine and the psychiatrist has given her approval. Should I agree with them and start the treatment? Most likely the psychosis will reoccur and I'll have to stop the treatment and I've read that could cause rapid regrowth of the tumour. I'll appreciate any advice.
I've been diagnosed with a pituitary macroadenoma (a prolactinoma) & I need some advice. Help me?

It's very difficult to give advise about this ... your doctor and psychiatrist know all about your conditions and they will only prescribe what is best for your. If you have any concerns about the medication/treatment then please question them ... they know the protocols of treatment and will be able to give you the right answers.

Hi hon,
I had just about finished this note when I hit a botton
and deleted the whole thing. So once again I'll try to get this done,
I really can't give you any medical advice. You apparently have many issues
that hurt, and puts a terrible strain on you. I'm so sorry and, I will pray for you.
I to have many medical problems myself and if it wasn't for God, I may have killed my self.
I can't even hardly pronounce your illness, but I'm sure you felt the same way.
I first became ill in 2004. I got a blood clot in a vain in my head. I had such headaches
I thought I was going to die. oh, it hurt and nothing would stop it. Morphine is the only pain reliever that would stop the hurt. The blood clot had calcified in the vain. For that I thank God, or it might have killed me. Then shortly after I was out of the hospital, I got another DVT in my arm. I was rushed to the hospital
Thanks for your concern and your prayer.

I'm in the public health services in Trinidad. The psychiatrist didn't have enough time to do proper research and the clinic was large so she didn't have time to talk to me either. She still gave her approval. I did drug interaction and medical conditions research with respect to my situation and I printed out the results.
In the endocrine clinic I saw a new junior doctor and he only consulted with the head doctor (who I was supposed to see) who gave him directions. He ignored all the research saying that they'll put me on a low dose of bromocriptine and that I'll have little chance of adverse effects even if I have to stop treatment suddenly. He totally ignored the warning about uncontrolled HTN too.
I'm planning to delay the start of my treatment until I can show the psychiatrist the documentation and get her informed opinion.
