Dr, wants to take me off zolpidem 10. Is Zaleplon even close. I lay awake for hours before I fall asleep. At least with the zolpidem I can get to sleep, but still wake up in 4 or 5 hours. I would love for anyones opinion.

Hi okey dokey. Interesting question. The zolpidem is more bothersome, difficult to stop, versus sonata. By difficult I mean side effects will be less on sonata versus zolpidem. I think that if you give the sonata, a chance, you'll find that you'll still be getting a decent nights sleep. Hope you manage to get some zzzzz. best to you.
