My psychiatrist is switching me from Adderall XR over to Vyvanse starting tommorrow, Monday, Nov. 29, and i'm very nervous. I was on Adderall for 12
years, then it stopped working. Is Vyvanse supposed to be better than Adderall? Does it work better? I've heard that it has more side effects. I'm just
really nervous about starting it. Today was my last day of Adderall. First thing
in the morning I have to walk next door and pick up my Vyvanse, and then start taking it. Andrea
Is Vyvanse a very good medicine?

Couldnt have said it better myself excellent answer.
Thank you very much. On the adderall I could drink caffeine, even a mountain dew and it wouldn't bother me. Do I have to watch it more with the Vyvanse?
On the adderall I hardly had any side effects except for the loss of appatite and weight, and dry mouth.
Also, you said that Vyvanse may make me feel tired at the end of the day. I have an evening job. I work from 5 to 9 PM. Will Vyvanse interfere with that?
Andrea
Cheerbear,
I would try and curb the caffeine use until you see how it affects you. Remember, the side effects may or may not even show up but you wouldn't want to get all hopped up on caffeine and start biting people's heads off. Take it slow until you see if it seems to make you more irritable. Same thing goes for the dry mouth-you may or may not get it. The evening job may be a problem. If you go to work and find yourself feeling run-down, then I would definitely talk to your doctor; he may need to find something else for you or he may have to alter your dosing schedule. Just take it as the prescription directs but keep tabs on how you feel and whether or not you start having any side effects-that way you can inform the doctor better about how the Vyvanse is working for ya. Glad to be of help. Post again anytime!
