gemlily5I have taken regular strength Tylenol for years. Until this past year, I could not find any on the store shelves. Is there a good alternative for it? I have irregular hearbeat and Fibroids. I read a new alert in my local drug store saying the all Tylenol were being recalled for safety reasons. Please clear this up for me. Thanks.

Tylenol will be back on the shelf soon. I think the last I read is that they were recalling due to a musty odor. Laurie is right. It surprises me that people dont know this. Any generic acetaminophen will work every bit as well as Tylenol and it is also much, much cheaper to buy a generic. Buy the cheapest store brand. I guarantee you, when you are in the hospital, they give you the cheapest generic available on any medicine!! It is BS most of the time that hospitals use only Tylenol Brand. I think I remember that they used to have a commercial to that effect and I worked at a reknowned hospital at the time and they used a generic!!!

Thank you.It's a relief to know someone knows the 'real deal'. Consumers are having 'the wool pulled over their eyes' as it were. From now on, it's generic all the way for me. Thanks again.

Tylenol is expensive because of the commercials telling you it is the best!! The same with Advil and Motrin, both of those are ibuprofen brands. I just buy the cheapest store brand. It is all the same! The only difference may be some of the inert ingredients like binders and fillers. the active ingredient is exactly the same.

hi i"m charlotte, im from south carolina and it is hard to find tylenol on most store shelves,a couple of my facebook friends say quiet a few things about tylenol,one is that a lot of our teenagers are cutting them up and using them in ways that they shoud"nt, and at one time they were recalled because some of them were contamanated,{sorry if i miss spelled that},but several of our local convient stores do still sell tylenol in the little small packets, and i also find that taken excedrin migraine is better than tylenol, even if its just for a regular,or stress headache, i hope you can find this info helpful. i forgot to mention that i also have irregular heartbeat. write back anytime. and i will be praying for you. charlotte.

I honestly dont see what kids can do with cutting up Tylenol. Tylenol will not get you high. It just fries your liver in high doses. I have heard this before too that some kids think you can get high off Tylenol unless they think it is the same as Tylenol #3 with codeine which is totally different although the tabs look very similar.It is usually very young kids who think this-like 10-14 year olds. i just dont get it.

I don't know about other places but my mom has had the habit of purchasing brand name tylenol, here in Indiana Wal-mart says that they have recalled it so many times until the are starting to stock acetaminophen, the last she bought was from them and she says there is no difference.

A couple of times at work I would get a headache and had no Tylenol so I had to take Advil. That was a bad idea for me because my headache got worse and I threw up while working. I only took one because I wanted to make sure my body could handle it well with alot of water.
Outside of that, I should just look for acetominophen and choose one that was good. Is generic brands better than non-generic?
Hey, Let me explain. Tylenol is the brand name for the generic medicine called acetominophen. Advil is the brand name for the generic medicine called ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is very different than acetominophen. You want the generic medicine acetominophen which is the same thing as Tylenol. OK?
Doesn't matter which acetominophen you choose, they are all the same.
